Initial Deposit and Minimum Trade Requirements

In order to open an account or to open new positions in an account, you must have the following minimum account equity (cash and securities):

Please do not send funds until your account has been opened. You will receive an e-mail from Interactive Brokers stating that the account has been opened.

Account Maintenance Minimum

Accounts must maintain a minimum balance of $100 USD, or equivalent, in net liquidating value. Accounts with balances less than $100 USD equivalent may be closed without special notification. Closed accounts cannot be reactivated; however, customers are able to open a new account as usual.

In the event of an account closure, any open positions in the account will be liquidated and the final cash balance, in base currency, will be returned to the customer.
